Yesterday over 70 people from more than 50 small and independent businesses in Walthamstow attended a reception hosted by Stella Creasy MP in the Houses of Parliament.

Over 50 local small businesses and social enterprises discussed forming a Small Business Forum for Walthamstow as well as getting a chance to meet new friends and contacts in our community. Joined by Waltham Forest’s Cllr Mark Rusling, who leads on promoting enterprise for our Council, as well as representatives from the Federation of Small Businesses the networking event gave business owners in Walthamstow the chance to share their experiences and ideas of how best to support small and independent businesses in E17.

In the coming months the group will form a working group with the aim of setting up a formal small business forum and Google will be providing an introductory workshop on helping small businesses get online. As part of their ‘Getting British Businesses Online’ training road-show, Google have already supported 200,000 businesses so far in taking their services online.

If you want to get involved and play a part in how we can help Walthamstow’s businesses in the year ahead, please contact Mark Fisher by email or on 07967 08 65 92.
