Driving Home for Christmas? public transport disruptions ahead....

| | Comments (0)
From Sunday 23rd December 2007 until the Wednesday 2nd January 2008 there will be no overground service between Walthamstow Central/St James Street and Liverpool Street, due to the closure of Liverpool Street for engineering works. At present Neil Gerrard and I have received no details of any disruption or early closures on the Victoria Line so this should be running during the festive period. These periods of disruption are frustrating but do bring benefits. For example, the recent early closure programme allowed upgrades on the Victoria Line which will enable 33 trains per hour, rather than the current 27, which means a faster service for all of us. In addition, there will be 47 brand new trains on the line as well as quicker journey times thanks to the improvements to signalling to make sure it is more reliable. During this time of investment in our public transport system it is likely there will be further disruptions so I will continue to update this site with details as and when I receive them.
